INSIDE LIFE: TEENAGER Impregnated By Father, Delivers Baby in Ibadan (READ FULL DETAILS)

 

 

A 14 year old girl (name withheld )that was allegedly impregnated by her 43 year old father, Kayode Oluwaseyifunmi in Ibadan has given birth to a baby girl at the University College Hospital, UCH.

 

The girl was said to have gone into premature labour at the orphanage home that gave her shelter after the case was brought into the open by Radio Nigeria.

 

She was initially rushed to Molete Health Center, Oyo state owned hospitals, Yemetu Adeoyo and Ring Road hospital but was rejected due to some complications associated with her delivery.

 

She was later referred to the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan where she eventually gave birth to a baby girl through a Cesarean section, and the newborn was immediately placed on oxygen as the baby was born premature.

 

The mother too had to be given oxygen to resuscitate her due to the stress of carrying pregnancy at tender age.

 

When Radio Nigeria contacted the relatives of the Mr. Oluwaseyifunmi and that of his late wife, none could provide financial assistance needed at the hospital, while no family member is available to stay with the teenage mother and the newborn at the intensive care unit.

 

After much pleading, a care giver was hired by the two families to do the job for just six days which cost twenty one thousand naira.

 

The young mother, a student of Junior Secondary School 3 at a public school in Oluyole local government area of Oyo state before the incident happened.

 

The case of the fourteen year old girl came into the open when her sudden disappearance from the school became a tale in the community where she was living with her two younger sisters, age ten and twelve.

 

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, the girl explained that she had to stop her Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, due to the shame of facing her co-students.

 

The dark chubby girl also said she had been having an illicit affair with her biological father for about two years before she became pregnant.

 

Meanwhile, the incident was reported to the Ministry of Women Affairs by Radio Nigeria and the perpetrator, Mr. Kayode Oluwaseyifunmi who had been nurturing the three girls for over seven years after the demise of their mother was arrested by the police and detained at Agodi Correctional Center in Ibadan.

 

The 43 year old man who was also a bricklayer attributed the act to the devil, claiming that he did not know what came over him.

Europe-based man killed in Benin City over N50m gold necklace

 

 

A Europe-based man, identified only as Derrick, was reportedly killed by hoodlums in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, over the weekend.

The tragic incident occurred on Igun Street, an area well-known for vehicle repair workshops. According to sources, Derrick was attacked after allegedly resisting an attempt to steal his lumbar gold necklace, reportedly valued at ₦50 million.

‎The deceased who recently returned to Benin from abroad was said to have visited the area to buy spare-parts for his vehicle when the hoodlums emerged, accosted and trying to dispose him of his belongings

A witness said the victim, who was not aware of their intention, demanded to know why he should hand over the necklace.

‎He said after the challenge, one of them reached out for a Pump Action and shot the unsuspecting victim twice on his leg.

‎”The gang thereafter removed the jewelry and fled the scene.”

According to him, ‎ sympathisers later rushed the deceased to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

‎Spokesperson for Edo State Police Command, CSP Moses Yamu, confirmed the killing.

Yamu said investigation is ongoing, vowing that the perpetrators would be brought to book.

EFCC arrests 28 suspected Yahoo boys in Ilorin

 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 28 suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin, Kwara State, following a coordinated sting operation.

The arrests took place across several locations in the state capital, including Tanke, University Road, Oshin, and Agbabiaka.

According to the EFCC, items recovered from the suspects include seven exotic cars among them the latest models of Toyota Corolla and a Lexus as well as two motorcycles, laptops, premium mobile phones, and other gadgets believed to have been used for online fraud.

The anti-corruption agency said the suspects would be arraigned in court upon concluding the ongoing investigations.

The EFCC routinely arrests suspected internet fraudsters in urban communities across Nigeria as more young people find the illicit trade lucrative.

Convictions of suspected so-called Yahoo Boys have formed a significant part of those secured by the EFCC in courts over the years.

Gunmen abduct Nigerian gov’s senior aide

Residents of the Tudun Amba area of Lafia, Nasarawa State, were thrown into panic on Saturday night when armed men stormed the neighbourhood, firing gunshots before abducting a prominent government official.

The victim was identified as Muhammed Egye Osolafia, widely known as Deedat, who serves as Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Services to Governor Abdullahi Sule. He was reportedly taken away moments after arriving at his home.

Witnesses said the attackers fired into the air to disperse people in the area before whisking Osolafia away to an unknown destination.

Reacting to the development, the governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, described the incident as “sad and unfortunate,” noting that he received word of the abduction from a colleague.

This latest attack comes just weeks after another top government official, Barrister Yusuf Musa, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Culture, was kidnapped from his residence in Ungwan Nungu, also within Lafia.

At press time, the state police command had yet to release an official statement on the matter.

Two Brazil returnees excrete 116 wraps of heroin, cocaine in NDLEA custody

Businesswoman conceals 1.40kg meth in butt pad underwear as Agency intercepts illicit drug shipments in phone chargers, food items going to Europe, Hong Kong at Lagos airport; large consignments of skunk, opioid in Zamfara, Adamawa

 

Two Brazil returnees: Ofoma Sunday and Ukachukwu Frank Ikechukwu have excreted a total of 116 wraps of heroin and cocaine they ingested after days in observatory custody following their arrest by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Ikeja Lagos.

One of the suspects, 46-year-old Ofoma was arrested on Tuesday 16th September 2025 at terminal 2 of the Lagos airport upon his arrival from Laos, Brazil on an Ethiopian airlines flight. He was taken for body scan which confirmed ingestion of illicit drugs. Ofoma had left Nigeria for Brazil on 3rd September to courier the consignment to Lagos for a reward of $2,500 upon successful delivery.

A swift follow-up operation was conducted at Eliata Hotel in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos where Ofoma was instructed to meet Nweke Jude Chuckwudi who was designated to oversee the excretion of the drugs at the hotel and recover them. The 55-year-old Nweke was arrested in the process. A total of 111 wraps of heroin weighing 1.452 kilograms were egested in eight excretions by Ofoma.

Similarly, another Brazil returnee Ukachukwu Frank Ikechukwu, was arrested at the Lagos airport during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airlines passengers from Brazil via Addis Ababa on Friday 19th September. He was taken for body scan which confirmed illicit drug insertion. Under excretion observation, Ukachukwu expelled five big wraps of cocaine weighing 145 grams.

In his statement, he confessed to have bought nine wraps of the class A drug in Brazil and inserted all into his anus, a process he claimed took him nearly two hours. During his transit through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he said he began to experience severe anal pain and decided to remove the wraps from his body. He stated that in an attempt to meet up with his connecting flight to Nigeria, he could only manage to reinsert seven wraps, after which he flushed the remaining two wraps in a toilet.

The suspect revealed that while on board his flight to Nigeria, he felt pressed and uncomfortable, which compelled him to use the lavatory. During the process, he expelled an additional two wraps, leaving him with only five wraps in his anus. He claimed to have been into clothing business before traveling to Brazil in 2017. In 2020, he moved to the United States, where he was arrested for immigration offence and was detained for over a year before being deported to Nigeria in 2022.

 

In March 2025, he returned to Brazil, where he currently works, having already obtained a Brazilian residence permit.

Meanwhile, a businesswoman Okolonkwo Ebere Theresa was on Sunday 14th September taken into custody after Aviation Security Officers of FAAN in collaboration with NDLEA operatives attached to the screening point of terminal 2 of the Lagos airport arrested her for concealing illicit drug in her underwear while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Doha, Qatar.

After a thorough search, two big parcels of white crystalline substance that later tested positive to methamphetamine with a gross weight of 1.40 kilograms were recovered from her butt pad underwear. During preliminary interview with Ebere, she claimed she trades in used clothing and also operates a POS business in Enugu where she was recruited into the illicit drug business.

At the NAHCO export shed of the Lagos airport, NDLEA operatives on Monday 15th September intercepted a consignment of food items used to conceal 40 wraps of methamphetamine with a total weight of 2.30 kilograms heading to Hong Kong via Turkish Airlines. A 59-year-old suspect, Umelo Ifeanyi Venatus, who presented the consignment as part of a consolidated cargo, has been taken into custody.

Another consignment of illicit drug packaged for Europe was intercepted by NDLEA operatives at a courier company in Lagos on Thursday 18th September. During a thorough examination of the shipment, seven pieces of phone charger going to New Zealand were found to contain 257 grams of cocaine.

In Adamawa, no fewer than 233,800 pills of tramadol were recovered by NDLEA operatives in three raids with two suspects arrested in parts of the state. A total of 195,600 pills of the opioid were recovered from an abandoned Toyota Sienna vehicle in Mayo Belwa area of Yola South on Wednesday 17th September, while a suspect Rita Zira was nabbed in Jambutu area of Jimeta Yola with 27,900 pills of tramadol discovered in her bedroom. Another suspect, Halilu Abubakar, 22, was arrested with 10,300 pills of same substance by NDLEA officers at Namtari checkpoint, Yola on Saturday 20th September.

No less than 109 bags of skunk, a strain of cannabis, weighing 1,099.4 kilograms were seized from a suspect Hammed Danladi Aliyu, 40, by NDLEA operatives supported by members of the Community Protection Guards (CPG) along Gummi-Daki Takwas road, Zamfara state while conveying the consignment in a Mitsubishi Canter truck marked LRN 568XB to a village called Company in Gummi LGA on Saturday 20th September.

While two suspects: Babangida Usman and Ismail Ibrahim were arrested with 14, 000 capsules of tramadol along Damaturu-Potiskum road, Yobe state, NDLEA operatives in Taraba on Wednesday 17th September 17 nabbed Anas Hamisu, 28, with three sacks of skunk that weighed 25.525kg, at Garba-Chede, Bali LGA.

In Edo state, two cannabis farms on 4.532025 hectares located at Atororo forest in Owan West LGA with an estimated yield of 11,330.0625kg were on Wednesday 17th September destroyed by NDLEA officers who also recovered eleven bags of processed skunk and seeds weighing 148kg. Suspects arrested at the plantations include: Mathew Onoja, 56; Moses Thomas Male, 18; and Friday Uchenjin, 38.

With the same vigour, Commands and formations of the Agency across the country continued their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization activities to schools, worship centres, work places and communities among others in the past week. These include: WADA sensitization lecture to students and staff of Sultan Abdulrahman College of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, Sokoto; Sarki Abdul Primary School, Dankama border town, Katsina; Government Secondary School, Gwaram, Jigawa; St. Mary Junior Secondary School, North Bank Makurdi, Benue; and Ummulkhair Islamiyya, Tudun Wada, Kano, while

Zone 11 Command of NDLEA paid a WADA advocacy visit to Enugu State First Lady Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, among others.

“These arrests and seizures represent a significant milestone in our determined effort to dismantle drug trafficking organizations operating in Nigeria and around the world, prioritizing those bent on targeting our productive youth population with illicit substances until they’re no longer able to inflict harm on our communities or misrepresent our country’s image in the global space”, said the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) while commending the officers and men of MMIA, DOGI, Adamawa, Zamfara, Edo, Taraba, and Yobe Commands for the various successful operations. He enjoined them and their colleagues across the country to continue with the ongoing balanced approach to the drug control efforts of the Agency.

Anambra Police Arrests Robbery Kinpin On Wanted List, Recovers Pump Action Gun, Cartridges

The Anambra State Police Command according to its spokesman, SP Tochukwu ikenga confirmed that

Operatives attached to Rapid Response squad, Awkuzu at midday of 20th September 2025, and acting on credible intelligence, arrested one Kingsley Eze, male, aged 34 years, in Abagana. The suspect has been on the Police wanted list for alleged involvement in armed robbery.

 

During the arrest, one Magnum Pump Action gun, along with 12 live cartridges, were recovered from him.

 

The suspect is currently in custody undergoing interrogation and would be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigations.

Troops capture key suspect linked to notorious ‘Full Fire’ gang

Troops under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have apprehended a suspected top-ranking member of the gang led by notorious wanted criminal, Akiki Utivi, widely known as “Full Fire.”

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday at Takum Junction in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The arrest, carried out by troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Wukari, followed what sources described as reliable intelligence on the suspect’s movements.

“Wuaiyolna, who hails from Atereyange in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, was nabbed while allegedly monitoring troops’ activities in Wukari to facilitate planned attacks and kidnappings by the gang.

“He was also found with a motorcycle, which he claimed he brought to sell in Wukari,” the source said.

Military authorities hailed the operation as a significant blow to the “Full Fire” network, which has long terrorised communities in Taraba and Benue States.

They added that while the security situation remains “calm but unpredictable,” troops’ morale and combat readiness are still high.

ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS 10 SUSPECTED CULTISTS, RECOVER FIREARM AND AMMUNITION

  By Ebinum Samuel     The Anambra State Police Command in its ongoing onslaught against cultism and violent crimes, through Police Operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad (SPACS) Enugu ukwu in the early hours of today 18th September, 2025 acting on credible intelligence, stormed the residence of Ndefoh Chijoke ‘M’, aged 23 years in Ogbunike village, Oyi local government, a strong member of the Aye Confraternity (Black Axe), who was sighted in the company of other suspected cultists. Upon a search of him, an Ontario CA American-made pistol with one live round of ammunition was recovered from the suspect.   Also, in a follow-up on the information obtained on the spot from the suspect, 9 (Nine) other suspects were arrested. They include: Obuh Onyedika ‘M’ 27yrs, Obuh Confidence ‘M’ 19yrs, Mbanusi Nnaemeka ‘M’ 22yrs, Godwin Udebeh ‘M’ 31yrs, Chizoba Onuake ‘M’ 19yrs, Ohazunike Martins ‘M’ 23yrs, Ndife Chidorie ‘M’ 23yrs, Nwosu Chinecherem ‘M’ 22yrs, and Caleb Nwafor ‘M’ 26yrs. The suspects are currently undergoing screening and profiling, after which those found culpable will be charged in court.     The spokesman for the Command , SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD commended the swift action of the operatives and reiterated the Command’s commitment to sustaining aggressive raids, intelligence-led operations, and community collaboration to rid the State of cultism, firearms proliferation, and other violent crimes.   Investigation is ongoing, and further developments will be communicated.   Meanwhile, other parts of the State remains calm as counter-terrorism and crime prevention operations continue.

Indian businessman, 3 others arrested over N3.9bn tramadol intercepted at Lagos airport

As NDLEA busts skuchies factory in Ikorodu, recovers 6,029 bottles; arrests couple with 19kg meth, skunk in Anambra; intercepts Ice, Loud shipments in picture frame, decoders

 

An Indian businessman Gupta Ravi Kumar and three Nigerian accomplices: Ogunlana Noah Olanrewaju, Olushola Idrees Kayode and Bakare Korede Muheeb have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in connection with the seizure of Two Million Two Hundred and Forty-Eight Thousand (2,248,000) pills of tramadol 200mg/225mg intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Ikeja Lagos.

The tramadol shipment worth Three Billion Nine Hundred and Ninety Million Naira (N3,990,000,000) in street value was imported from Delhi, India, disguised as multi-vitamins in 114 cartons and arrived the import shed of the Lagos airport on an on Ethiopian Airline flight on Monday 8th September 2025.

A team of NDLEA officers who had put the consignment under surveillance however swooped on a clearing agent and two drivers who were trying to move the shipment out of the airport in two trucks on Thursday 11th September. A follow up operation the following day, Friday led to the arrest of the Indian businessman Gupta Ravi Kumar, when he was trying to take delivery of the consignment.

At the terminal 2 departure gate of the airport, NDLEA operatives on Sunday 7th September intercepted a passenger Onyeganochi Stanley Ifeanyi travelling on a Qatar Airline flight to Doha. A search of his bag led to the recovery of 900grams of skunk, a strain of cannabis concealed in crayfish. As a first-time traveler, Onyeganochi claimed the bag was given to him to help take to Doha by a Qatar-based Nigerian Ohadiegwu Anthony Uchenna who actually followed him to the airport.

His confession led to the arrest of Uchenna who was still within view. Operatives who later conducted a search of Uchenna’s hotel room in Ajao estate discovered additional 200grams of the same psychoactive substance. He claimed he was to return to Doha days later and pick the bag from the unsuspecting Onyeganochi if he had succeeded escaping security checks.

At the Tincan port in Lagos, a total of 161 parcels of Canadian Loud, a strain of cannabis weighing 81.7kg and 1.2kg hashish oil were recovered from a 40ft container of vehicle spare parts and used vehicles imported from Montreal Canada during a joint examination of the shipment on Tuesday 9th September. Two suspects: John Ochigbo, 53, and Okeke Kingsley, 26, have been taken into custody in connection with the seizure.

Another shipment of Canadian Loud with a total weight of 65kg was tracked from the port to Third Mainland bridge where NDLEA operatives intercepted a Toyota Sienna vehicle conveying the consignment, recovered it and arrested the driver Abubakar Ibrahim, 42 on Thursday 11th September.

Two separate shipments of methamphetamine concealed in picture frame and Loud, hidden in video players were seized at two courier companies in Lagos on Monday 8th and Thursday 11th September respectively by NDLEA operatives. While six grams of meth recovered from the picture frame were meant for delivery in Gabon, 1.1kg Loud in the decoder machines was heading to the United Arab Emirate.

In Ikorodu area of Lagos, NDLEA operatives acting on intelligence on Thursday 11th September raided a factory producing skuchies, a blend of cannabis and black currant drink. No less than 6, 029 bottles of the new psychoactive substance and 4,232kg of cannabis were recovered from the factory located in Caritas, Ibeshe area of Ikorodu while the factory manager Joy Awosika was arrested. Another suspect, Akeem Oriola was same day arrested in Mushin area of Lagos with 26kg skunk.

In Abuja, NDLEA operatives on a stop and search operation at Utako area of the FCT on Thursday 11th September arrested a dispatch rider Godsplan Vincent, 29, while on a mission to distribute 50.7grams of cocaine and 66grams of Loud. Three female suspects: Faidat Azeez, 25; Alanu Fatimoh, 40, and Mojeed Taiwo, 25, were arrested in Lagbondoko and Akitan areas of Oyo town, Oyo State in connection with the seizure of 17kg skunk found in their possession.

No fewer than 100,000 pills of tramadol 200mg/225mg were seized from a suspect Musa Shuaibu, 38, at Gadar Tamburawa, along Zaria – Kano road on Monday 8th September while

196 litres of Akuskura, a new psychoactive substance, were recovered from Abubakar Adamu, 35, at Na’ibawa area of Kano by NDLEA operatives who also seized 34.1kg skunk, 493 tubes of rubber solution and 25 litres of ‘suck and die’, an NPS, from Basiru Umar, 18,

at Wailari area, Kumbotso LGA, Kano state on Thursday 11th September.

In Anambra state, a couple: Nzube Onyedika, 41, and Ebele Onyedika, 42, were arrested during a raid operation at Obosi where 13.9kg Methamphetamine and 5.3kg skunk were recovered from them while various quantities of meth, tramadol, swinol, heroin and skunk were seized from another suspect Nnamchi Tochukwu, 36.

In Yobe, a suspect Mohammed Auwal was arrested after 36 blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 22.1kg were recovered from his residence at Gadan Talakawa area of Potiskum, while three trans-border drug traffickers: Kunyadi Kunle Ogbungbun, 24; Olalekan Adewale, 20; and Sanya Joshua,22, were nabbed with 394kg skunk at Imeko area of Ogun State during a joint operation by NDLEA operatives with the police and local vigilante on Sunday 7th September. Three motorcycles used in conveying the illicit consignment were also recovered.

In Edo state, a total of 16,966.633 kilograms of skunk were destroyed on a cannabis plantation measuring 6.786653 hectares at Ugbogyi forest, Ovia South West LGA while 112 bags of processed cannabis weighing 1,176 kilograms were also recovered at the farm where four suspects: Ebenezer Ewang; Oshore John; Emmanuel Monday and David Sunday were arrested.

In like manner, Commands and formations of the Agency across the country continued their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization activities to schools, worship centres, work places and communities among others in the past week. These include: WADA sensitization lecture to drivers at Onitsha South Motors park, Enugu North, Enugu state; Islamic faithful at Otu Central Mosque, Otu, Oyo state; students and staff of Salamah International School, Malumfashi, Katsina; Islamic faithful at Wawa Central Mosque, Wawa town, Niger state, while the Ogun state command of NDLEA paid a WADA advocacy visit to the Osile Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Adewale Tejuosho, Karounwi III, among others.

While commending the officers and men of MMIA, DOGI, Tincan, Lagos, Oyo, Edo, Kano, FCT, Anambra, Yobe, and Ogun Commands for the arrests, and seizures, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) enjoined them and their colleagues across the country to continue with the ongoing balanced approach to the drug control efforts of the Agency.

Bandits gun down 8, injure others in Southern Kaduna

Rampaging armed bandits on Sunday stormed Wake village in  Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, leaving eight residents dead and at least 20 others injured, with several of them battling for their lives.

During the violent raid in the community located in Southern Kaduna, the assailants also abducted an undisclosed number of villagers, though the exact figure has not yet been determined.

According to a report by counter-insurgency expert, Zagozola Makama, burials for the victims are already underway, while the community struggles to provide care for the wounded.

As at the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
