Constable Recruitment:Board Confirms 20 Centres For Medical Screening As Arase Prays For Successful Exercise

The Police Recruitment Board set up by the Police Service Commission to midwife the ongoing recruitment of Nigerians into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed twenty centres for the Medical screening for successful and shortlisted applicants from the just concluded computer based tests conducted by the Joint Admission and Martriculation Board, JAMB.By

The medical screening is one of the several processes put in place by the Board to evaluate the applicants for suitability for the job.The applicants had earlier been subjected to physical and credentials screening and later the Computer based test and will on April 16th, 2024 undergo the last of the screenings with the medical examination. The medical screening will last for two weeks.

The 20 centres selected for the exercise are ; Zone 1 Kano; Police cottage hospital Bompai, Kano; Zone 2 Lagos; Police College Ikeja; Zone 3 Yola, Police Clinic Yola; Zone 4, Makurdi, Police Clinic Makurdi; Zone 5 , Benin, Police Cottage hospital, Benin and Zone 6, Calabar, Police hospital Calabar.Other centres are, Zone 7, Abuja, MD Abubakar Police Hospital Dei Dei Abuja; Zone 8 Lokoja, Police Clinic, Lokoja; Zone 9 , Umuahia, Police Hospital Umuahia, Zone 10, Sokoto, PTS Clinic Sokoto; Zone 11 Osogbo, Police Hospital Osogbo; Zone12 Bauchi, PTS Clinic Bauchi; Zone 13 Ukpo, Police Hospital Awka; Zone 14, Katsina, Ibrahim Coomassie Cottage Hospital Katsina; Zone 15 Maiduguri, Police College, Maiduguri and Zone 16, yenagoa, Zone 16 Headquarters Yenagoa.The other four centres are; Zone 17, Akure, Police Hospital Akure; Zone 18, Yobe, Utral Modern Police Hospital, Gashua Road, Damaturu; Zone 19, Kaduna, Police College Clinic Kaduna and Zone 20, Gusau, Police Secondary School clinic Zaria Road Gusau.

The candidates for the medical screening have already been contacted on the dates and time for their screening. Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, CFR, retired Inspector General of Police has prayed for a successful conclusion of the recruitment exercise.

He advised the applicants to ensure that they keep to the dates and time allocated to them, adding that medical professionals have been selected to examine their medical status which is one of the requirements for the recruitment. Dr. Arase said successful applicants will report at designated Police Colleges for the mandatory training.

According to Ikechukwu Ani, Spokesman of the Commission,the Police Recruitment Board has Chief Onyemuche Nnamani Commissioner of the Police Service Commission as Chairman and assisted by DIG Frank Mbah, DIG Training.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Bode Akinbamilowo is Secretary of the Board and Assisted by Sanusi Yusuf, an Assistant Director with the Police Service Commission. Membership of the Board are drawn from the Police Service Commission, Nigeria Police Force, Ministry of Police Affairs, Federal Character Commission, Police Trust Fund and Police Colleges.

Easter Celebration : FCT Police Deploys 2, 000 Operatives…CP warns criminal elements

The FCT Police Command in anticipation of Easter celebration, has proactively deployed human and material resources at the Command’s disposal across the nooks and crannies of the Federal Capital Territory.

The deployment which is characterized by visibility policing and the deployment of explosive ordinance devices (EOD) experts at various places of worship and event centres, raids on identified black spots, uncompleted buildings/shanties, stop and search, Vehicular/foot patrol is aimed at ensuring that residents of FCT enjoys a peaceful and serene atmosphere, before, during and after the Easter celebration.

The Command Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Josephine Adeh said the commissioner of Police , CP Benneth C. Igweh urges residents to give the police operatives utmost cooperation, as the deployments is solely aimed at ensuring the safety of the populace.

Festive Season : LASTMA Assures Motorists of Adequate Traffic Management And Control Across Lagos

Following the regular upbeat in social activities during festive season with corresponding increased in vehicular traffic and in addition to the on-going construction works at various parts of the State, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has assured motoring public of adequate deployment of more personnel including traffic management materials for seamless traffic operations before, during and after the coming festive periods. The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, who made this known today at the Agency’s Headquarters felicitates with all Lagosians as they celebrate Easter, disclosed that all Operational heads including the newly restructured Agency’s District Comptrollers, Commanders and Zonal Heads would be fully on ground for seamless traffic management during the festive period.Mr Bakare-Oki reiterated that the Provost, Monitoring and Surveillance Units of the Agency would be out to closely monitor performance and ensure that all LASTMA officers on the road effectively and efficiently display civility and high level professionalism in the discharge of their duties.According to the General Manager “I specially congratulate all Lagosians on this occasion of Easter Celebration and I assure all road users particularly motoring public that Lastma personnel would be deployed to every strategic locations to adequately monitor vehiclular movements across the State”.

Easter Celebration: Arase Calls For National Rebirth, Says Christians Should Be Prepared To Sacrifice For A New Nigeria

As Christians all over the world observe and celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, Dr. Solomon Arase CFR, retired Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission has called for national rebirth in the face of the current economic and security challenges.

He urged Christians to use the
opportunity of this occasion to pray for a new Nigeria and support the Government in its determined efforts to ensure security of lives and properties across the nation.

According to Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission’s spokesman, Arase said, ” let’s use this time to reflect on what binds us together rather than those things that divide us” .

Dr. Arase also called for patriotism and sacrifice just as Christ sacrificed himself for the redemption of mankind.

He enjoined the Staff of the Commission and Members of the Nigeria Police Force to rededicate themselves to the service of the country, adding that Nigeria is a blessed country that is gradually regaining its glory.

He prayed that this Easter should inspire them to a new beginning of happiness, prosperity and abundance.

Lagos Based Lawyer Petitions COAS Over Misconduct, Illegal Duty by Soldiers In Lagos

A Legal practitioner based in Lagos state, Chief A.G Giwa-Amu has written a petition to the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. I could not sleep for 16 days over students’ abduction – Governor opens up

The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, on Monday said he could not sleep for 16 days over the abduction of 137 schoolchildren from the Kuriga area of the state.

Sani disclosed this after the military handed over the pupils to the state government at the Kaduna State Government House.

The governor promised to ensure the protection of lives across the state.

He said: “The reason why we are hear is the protection of lives and properties, Kaduna state government will continue to prioritize security.

“We had 16 days of sleepless night and the Kaduna State government will continue to work with the relevant security agencies to ensure that all our local governments are saved.”

The governor also commended President Bola Tinubu, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the security agencies in the state.

Sani also cautioned the media against trying to unravel the story behind how the students were rescued from captivity.

On March 7, 2024, bandits had abducted 137 schoolchildren from the Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

In the wee hours of Sunday, the governor had announced the release of the abducted pupils.

Confirming the report, the Nigerian Military said the pupils were rescued from Zamfara State were their captors had taken them.

However, Sani dismissed claims that ransom was paid to effect the release of the pupils

POLICE RECRUITMENT: APPLICANTS FOR MEDICAL SCREENING

Due to the ongoing Muslim Ramadan fast and the Christian lenten period, the date for the medical screening/examination for candidates for Police recruitment into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force has been rescheduled to commence on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 to allow for the conclusion of these religious obligations.

The screening is expected to last for two weeks and will signal the successful conclusion of the exercise. Specialist applicants who participated in the physical and credentials screening but were not involved in the JAMB conducted Computer based tests will also be subjected to practical tests and medical screening during the period.The exercises are expected to hold in the 17 Zonal Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force and in Kaduna, yobe and Zamfara states which have been accorded special considerations because of the security challenges in those states.

Candidates from these states are to do the screening and practical tests in their states of origin. Police Colleges situated in States hosting the Zonal Command Headquarters will also provide venues for the exercises. The Police Recruitment Board will contact shortlisted candidates with detailed information on where and when they are expected to arrive venues of their screening. Successful candidates from the medical screening will proceed to Police Colleges for their mandatory training.

Bobrisky describes transition into a woman as ‘smooth’

Posting a picture via his Instagram page, Bobrisky expressed happiness with the transition, saying that he had no health issues during the surgery procedure.

In the Instagram photo, Bobrisky said he was grateful to his medical staff in Nigeria and abroad for their assistance in easing his transition into femininity.

“My journey transitioning into a woman has been going smooth, no health issues, everything is going smooth for me. I want to say thank you to all my doctors both home and abroad. You all did an amazing job with my body,” he wrote.

Security operatives rescue 20 kidnapped victims in Edo

Security operatives have rescued 20 kidnapped victims in Edo forest and go after 21 others still in captivity.The victims were among 41 passengers of four Toyota Hiace buses abducted by gunmen suspected to be herders along Lakpese Road, in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the state on 18 March, 2024.

The rescue operation was carried out by a combined team of police operatives, military personnel and local vigilantes who are still combing the bush to rescue the remaining 21 victims.

The hoodlums were said to have suddenly emerged from the bush, accosted the victims’ vehicles at gunpoint and whisked them into the bush.

The State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the rescued of 20 victims.According to him, “On March 18, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ibilo Division received information that hoodlums suspected to be herdsmen emerged from the bush along Lakpese-Ogorimagogo Road, accosted four Toyota Hiace buses and kidnaped the occupants and escaped into the bush.“

Police operatives in collaboration with the military personnel and vigilante immediately moved to the scene, embarked on vigorous bush combing exercise and rescued 20 passengers at once.”Chidi said efforts are still ongoing to rescue the 21 other adult passengers still in captivity.
