The Deputy Inspector -General of Police, DIG, representing South-west, Mr Abiodun Sylvester Alabi, will tomorrow begin his tour of his zone, starting from Lagos state.The Police chief tour of the zone may not be unconnected with the directive by the Inspector -General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun to his deputies to embark on a familiarisation tour of their various zones with a view to assessing the security situation in their zone and to ensure that the Police/Community Partnership agenda of the IGP is being implemented holistically.
In the state, Alabi, the DIG in charge of FCID, will meet with stakeholders, religious and traditional rulers; the AIG in charge of Zone 2, Mr Olatoye Durosonmi , the state commissioner of Police, Mr Adegoke M. Fayoade, officers of Zone 2 and Lagos State Police Command. DIG Alabi , a disciplinarian per excellence, is expected to leave for Ogun state on Tuesday . He is very familiar with the crime and security situation in Lagos, as he was in the state as commissioner of Police, Squadron Commander, Divisional Police Officer, DPO.
