2027: Yusuf Buhari clinches APC ticket for Reps’ seat

Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Buhari’s emergence followed a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina on Tuesday, April 28, where he was unanimously endorsed as the party’s flag bearer without opposition.

The decision was made public by the Chairman of the Consensus Committee for Daura Zone, Alhaji Ahmed Dangiwa, a former Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

Reacting to the development, Mannir Musa, APC Chairman in Mai’adua Local Government Area, called on party members to rally behind the decision.

“I urge all our people to be obedient and accept the consensus reached by the committee and stakeholders in good faith. We should all work together for the unity and progress of the party and our people,” he said.

He further appealed to Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, to provide support for aspirants who were not selected, so they could continue contributing to the development of their communities.

Musa also advised candidates who secured tickets through the consensus arrangement to prioritise service to their constituents if elected in the forthcoming polls.

Other candidates who emerged through the same process include Nasir Yahaya for the Daura senatorial district and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua constituency seat in the Katsina State House of Assembly.

In his remarks, Yusuf Buhari expressed appreciation to party members for their trust and assured them of effective representation if given the mandate at the polls.
