CP Ogun Receives World Boxing Champion Tyson Kill, OTAFEST Nigeria Organizing Team On Courtesy Visit

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, received Nigeria Police Officer and World Boxing Champion, ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill), alongside the OtaFEST Nigeria Organizing Team on a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, ahead of the 2026 OtaFEST Nigeria Festival.

The delegation, according to the Command spokesman, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, was led by Mr. Michael Gomwalk Adebowale, Executive Producer, Creative Director, and Overall Lead of OtaFEST Nigeria. Other members included Mr. Oluwatobi Olaniyi, Director of Operations; Mr. Diamond Egwu, Director of Trade Fair and Welfare; and Mr. Olalekan Shoyoye, Head Coach to ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill).

During the visit, the delegation briefed the Commissioner on preparations for the 2026 OtaFEST Nigeria Festival, describing it as a cultural and creative platform designed to connect people, promote opportunities, showcase African creativity, and drive youth engagement through sports, entertainment, trade, and community development initiatives.

They further informed the Commissioner that a key highlight of the festival will be an international boxing contest featuring ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill), who is scheduled to headline a bout against a professional boxer from Lithuania. The contest is expected to attract significant local and international attention.

The delegation appreciated the Ogun State Police Command for its unwavering commitment to peace, security, and public order across the State, while seeking continued collaboration and support to ensure a safe and successful festival.

In his response, CP Bode Ojajuni, an avid sports enthusiast and strong advocate of youth development through sports, warmly welcomed the delegation and commended OtaFEST Nigeria for its vision in promoting culture, sports, tourism, and economic empowerment.

The Commissioner expressed particular pride in the achievements of ASP Olagbade Sulaimon (Tyson Kill), describing him as a distinguished Nigeria Police Officer whose excellence in boxing has brought honour, pride, and positive global recognition to the Nigeria Police Force.

He highlighted the officer’s outstanding record, noting his accomplishments as former Nigerian National Super Welterweight Champion, former West African Boxing Union Champion, former World Boxing Union Champion, former International Boxing Organization contender in Scotland, former Universal Boxing Union contender in Ghana, and current World Boxing Body Super Welterweight Champion as well as Heritage Boxing International Middleweight Champion.

CP Ojajuni stated that these achievements reflect discipline, resilience, and professionalism, adding that the officer has made the Nigeria Police Force proud through consistent excellence on the global sporting stage.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sports development, youth empowerment, and community-oriented policing, noting that such initiatives remain key to strengthening peace, unity, and social development.

He assured the delegation of adequate security support within lawful frameworks to ensure a safe, peaceful, and successful hosting of the festival, while urging all stakeholders to work collectively in maintaining order and public safety.
