Lagos Police Apprehend 5 Suspected Confraternity Members, Recover Weapon

 

 

 

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested five suspected members of the Aye Confraternity in an intelligence-driven stop-and-search along Ago/Festac Bridge. Officers intercepted a Toyota Camry XLE carrying Emmanuel John, 24, and David Godwin, 28, and recovered substances suspected to be hard drugs. The two men confessed to cult membership during questioning.

Further probe led operatives to three more suspects: Samuel Owubokiri, 25; Adetona Seyi, 20; and David Chigozie, 25. Recovered exhibits include military camouflage, two machetes, a battle axe, a knife, 500 SIM cards, five phones, five laptops, charms, and more suspected hard drugs. All five have admitted to being Aye Confraternity members, according to police.

CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, Lagos Commissioner of Police, said the Command remains committed to stamping out cultism and violent crime across the state.
