The Edo state commissioner of police, Peter Umoru Ozigi has placed his operatives on red alert for trouble makers in four communities in the state.
This has become necessary following recent clashes between Amagba and Oke-Oroma, also the killings of three persons by suspected herdsmen in Okpepe .
A source disclosed that the police chief noted for his proactiveness deployed over 150 undercover operatives to these trouble spots in the state. Also, the CP has deployed men from Mopol 5 and Mopol 60 to these areas.
” We are not resting on oars until peace reign in these places. Our crack detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, are on ground to check the activities of troublemakers” said a senior officer who pleaded anonymity.
Meanwhile, CP Ozigi has ordered his men, to as a matter of great urgency, thoroughly investigate those arrested in the state over crimes and charge them to court without any further delay.
Ozigi has called on his officers to ensure that they protect their various jurisdictions from hoodlums attack.
