CP Monday Agbonika of Edo State addressing New recruited Edo State Security Corps at Ehor LGA Secretariat
Edo, May 21, 2025 -The Police Commissioner in Edo State, CP Monday Agbonika has embarked on tour of communities seeking for stronger collaboration to fight crime in the State.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, confirmed this to MostNewsReporters (MNR).
Yamu said that the commissioner tour was part of the command’s efforts to foster stronger community participation in crime fighting in Edo State.
He said that the Commissioner visited Ehor Local Government Area Secretariat, where he monitored the recruitment screening into the Edo State Security Corps to beef up security personnel.
The image maker said Agbonika later visited Ugoneki, Ugomoson and Igbanke communities, where he met with community leaders.
“During the visits to Ehor Council Secretariat, the Commissioner charged the intending members of the State Security Corps, that aside driven by passion to rid their community of criminal elements, they must remain dedicated and shun any act that could undermine their efforts.
“At Ugomoson, Ugoneki and Igbanke communities, the CP engaged with critical stakeholders to chart a path to ridding the respective communities of crime.
“The representatives of the respective communities assured the Commissioner of Police of their readiness to partner with the Police to achieve a safer Edo State,” he said.
MNR reports that some community leaders at Ugomoson meeting, commended Agbonika for the visit, stressing that he was the first commissioner of police in Edo State to ever visited their community for security meeting.
They called for more of such meeting.
