Construction Of IEDPU Jumu’at Mosque: Sarkin Malamai Commends Union’s National President For Initiative, Calls For Financial Support.

The Sarkin Malamai of Ilorin, Sheikh Yakub Imam Ali-Agan, has commended the leadership of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) under its President, Alhaji AbdulMumini Ayo Abdulmalik, on the ongoing construction of Jumu’at mosque at the Union’s national secretariat, Gerin Alimi, Ilorin.

 

Sheikh Aliagan who gave the commendation on Saturday during an inspection of the multi-million naira mosque project, emphasised the importance and rewards associated with the construction of mosques in Islam, saying that the exalted paradise is the abode of those who build a mosque or support its construction.

 

The renowned cleric appealed to all sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate to support the Union towards the completion of the project.

 

The outstanding and prominent Islamic scholar however prayed for the success of IEDPU National President, Alhaji Abdul Mumini Ayo Abdulmalik, and his team, and for more growth and development for the IEDPU and the entire Ilorin Emirate.

 

In a statement by Mallam Sulaiman Shuaib Dagbo, the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, the IEDPU President appreciated the senior cleric for visiting the Union’s ongoing Central mosque and everyone who contributed to the project.

 

He however solicited for further financial and materials support for the quick completion of the project.

 

Meanwhile, the National President also felicitated with Prince Aliyu Kolapo Abdulkadir, on his appointment as the District Head of Ballah in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

 

Reacting to the appointment which was announced in a press statement signed by Dr Murtala AbdulRaheem, the Personal Assistant to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdulmalik commended the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for choosing a highly educated and competent administrator for the position.

 

The President, who recalled that he had part of his primary education in Ballah during the days of Mallam Saidu Alao Omooloni, revealed that Ballah is also the host of a huge investment of the Union and that of the federal government.

 

He added that the leadership and presence of the renowned legal luminary on the seat of Daudu Ballah would stimulate further development of that segment of the Emirate.

 

Alhaji Abdulmalik prayed Allah to grant Prince Abdulkadir a successful and peaceful reign as well as long life in good health with required leadership wisdom .

 

Prince Abdulkadir, who holds LL.B. and LL.M, degrees is 68 and son of the 10th Emir of Ilorin, late Alhaji Aliyu Baba Agba Abdulkadir.

 

The new District Head retired as a topnotch of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
