The Chairman, Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU ) Western Zone, Dr. Musa Solih Owonikoko has raised alarm over the ongoing impersonation by the suspended chairman of the Union Investment Committee, Alhaji Aileru Saliu Oluwadare.
Speaking with our correspondent, Dr Owonikoko emphasized that it became necessary to alert all Ilorin Emirate Indigenes and Nigerians at large not to fall victim of the alleged person who was allegedly claiming to be Zonal and Investment committee Chairman, collecting money from innocent people for plots of land.
According to Owonikoko, “Alhaji Aileru had been suspended indefinitely as Chairman Western Zone Investment Committee since last year (2025) over misappropriation of Union fund running to millions of naira, which he can not account for”.
“All efforts to get the money back from him proved abortive as he bluntly refused to defend his innocence. The last executive committee of the Union later suspended him and appointed another person to the position. Aileru later contested for Chairmanship position during late last year Zonal election, held at Owoh, in Ondo State but withdrew when he noticed that he can’t win.
“It’s now surprising that he was parading himself as the chairman, IEDPU Western Zone and investment committee, still deceiving people who want to buy land at Oko-Olowo, using the suspended ECOBANK account and one Elite City Hormes Ltd to syphoned money from members of the public”, Owonikoko alleged.
The Zonal Chairman added that it became necessary to alert the public because some people who just paid into the Ecobank account have been disturbing the union for land, which they didn’t pay for in the Western Zone account.
Dr Owonikoko hinted that the Union had already petitions the Kwara State Police command and the EFCC state command who are investigating the matter presently
Warning members of the public who are interested in buying land from the Union, he added, “Alhaji Abdul Kareem Amusat is the official Chairman Zonal Investment Committee with 08030759028, 08164699929 for verification and all payments now should be done to FIRST BANK A/C 2044846860. Anyone who transacts business with Alhaji Aileru and his company on behalf of IEDPU Western Zone does it at his or her own risks”.
