Police IGP Appointment: IEDPU Hails Disu, Urges Him To Tackle Insecurity, Banditry in Kwara, Nationwide

The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the umbrella socio-cultural organisation of the people of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has hail the appointment of Mr Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as the new Inspector-General of Police.

Alhaji Abdulmalik, in a statement, said that Mr Disu’s appointment at this point-in-time is very significant considering the increasing security challenges currently facing the country vis as vis his pedigree.

The President described Mr Disu as a distinguished , thoroughbred officer and gentleman with records of alluring achievements. He added that Mr Disu’s experience garnered over the last three decades from across the nation has adequately prepared him for the task of successfully leading the nation’s police.

Alhaji Abdulmalik, who is a retired Assistant Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, revealed that Mr Disu is considered naturally friendly but firm wherever he served .

He noted that Mr Disu has been a very good friend of the people of Ilorin Emirate, everywhere he served and therefore prayed Allah to guide and direct him aright, as always, in his new appointment.

The community leader appealed to the new IGP to ensure insecurity in the entire country is brought down to the minimum level while specifically appealing to him for deployment of more men and resources to Kwara State, in order to ensure adequate security of life and property of Kwarans; considering the incessant banditry attacks in recent times in some parts of the state.

Alhaji Abdulmalik wished Mr Disu a very peaceful and rewarding tenure.
