The Police Service Commission (PSC) today received a courtesy visit from the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, the research and training arm of the ICPC, at the PSC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
Leading the delegation, the Provost of the Academy, Professor Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim, stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the PSC in building public trust, promoting accountability, and reinforcing the virtues of integrity in the public service. He commended the Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, describing him as a “beacon” in the fight against corruption whose contributions continue to strengthen the ICPC’s mandate.
The Academy also shared its 2026 training programmes with the Commission, seeking mutual support towards attitudinal change and capacity building.
In his response, the PSC Chairman welcomed the partnership and reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to expose its staff to ethical standards and the dangers of corrupt practices. Drawing from his experience as a former Director of Investigation at the ICPC, he stressed that “successful prosecution of corruption cases depends on the diligence of the investigator,” and underscored the critical need for training and retraining in investigative ethics.
Also speaking, Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje JSC (rtd), a member of the PSC Board, thanked the delegation for their initiative and assured them of the Commission’s sustained commitment to the partnership.
