In a joyful and memorable day last weekend in Abia State, the family of Mr Nahtali-Noel Nkongho of Southern Cameroon came to Amankwu village of Isiali Autonomous Community, Ozuitem in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria to pay the bride price and fulfilled other traditional marriage rites of Dr Mercy Ekeoma Azubuko-Udah, the daughter of Barr. Azubuko-Udah, a retired Deputy Inspector-general of Police, DIG.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Chairman of the occasion and former Commissioner of sports, Abia State, Prof Emmanuel Mazi, thanked God for the traditional marriage ceremony and prayed God to bless their union.
In his welcome address, the father of the bride Barr Azubuko-Udah DIG rtd (Enyi Abia ) appreciated God for the joyful event adding that the marriage was a unity in diversity.
He thanked all that came to witness the event despite that the traditional marriage was not much publicized and prayed to God to bless the Union with good things that accompany marriage.
Barr Udah prayed for journey mercies to all that came to rejoice with the family.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of community leaders, captain of industries,clergy men, academias, security officers, business men, public servants,politicians including the President general Ozuitem Development Union, Hon. Chukwuma Egwuonwu and members of the exco, former Deputy Chairman Bende local government Chief Hon Chidiebere Asonye,Mr Chibuisi Jet Nwankwo,Hon Uche Onyeama, members of National high school aba old boys asso, President General Amankwu Ozuitem Development Union Chief chukwunonye Titus,Chief Ifeanyi Adije among other dignitaries .
