The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has congratulated Professor Tunde Olusunle, a Fellow and supporter of the Association, on his admission into the Fellowship of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
The congratulatory message was contained in a press release issued by the ANA President, Dr Usman Oladipo Akanbi, and the Acting General Secretary, Wole Adedoyin.
The Association described the honour as a fitting recognition of Professor Olusunle’s distinguished contributions to journalism, literature, scholarship and public intellectual engagement.
The Nigerian Guild of Editors, the umbrella body of editors across Nigeria’s print, online and electronic media organisations, conveyed the approval of Professor Olusunle’s Fellowship in a letter dated September 8, 2026, signed by its General Secretary, Mr Onuoha Ukeh. The letter stated that the Guild’s Standing Committee had approved his application for Fellowship.
Professor Olusunle’s induction is scheduled for September 26, 2026, during the Gala Night/Farewell Dinner marking the conclusion of the 22nd All Nigeria Editors’ Conference (ANEC) 2026 in Enugu. The honour represents another significant milestone in a distinguished career spanning media practice, literary scholarship, administration and writing.
A Fellow of ANA and one of the supporters of the Association, Professor Olusunle has maintained a notable presence in Nigeria’s literary and intellectual circles. Through his writings, scholarship and engagement with journalism, he has contributed significantly to conversations at the intersection of literature, media and public discourse.
His admission into the NGE Fellowship places him alongside some of Nigeria’s distinguished media personalities, including Pa Sam Amuka-Pemu, FNGE, publisher of Vanguard Newspapers; Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba, FNGE, CFR, former Governor of Ogun State; Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, FNGE, CON; Chief Ray Ekpu, FNGE, co-founder of Newswatch magazine; and Mr Nduka Obaigbena, FNGE, CON, proprietor of ThisDay Newspapers and Arise Television, among other eminent Fellows.
ANA noted that the recognition is particularly significant given Professor Olusunle’s multifaceted contributions as a journalist, literary scholar and writer. The Association said his Fellowship further stressed the important place of writers, scholars and intellectuals in advancing Nigeria’s media, cultural and public discourse.
The Association of Nigerian Authors joins Professor Olusunle’s family, colleagues, friends and associates in celebrating the prestigious recognition. ANA congratulates him on the honour and wishes him a successful induction in Enugu, as well as continued distinction and impactful contributions to literature, scholarship, journalism and national development.
