A chieftain of All Progressive Congress ( APC) Chief Onyekachi Onyekwere has called on Igbos not to play ethnic politics but join hands to vote all APC’s candidates into offices so as to embrace national politics.
Chief Onyekwere, who is also a business mogul in Lagos, stated that Igbos should avoid confrontational politics and be at the center to get their national cake.
Speaking to reporters in Lagos, Chief Onyekwere called on the people of Abia state in particular to vote for the APC candidates, Eric Opia in the state.
He noted that he is young, vibrant, very clean and has no controversy around him.
According to him, he is an industrialist with futuristic views. He deserves an opportunity to completely turn things around in Abia state.
“Before APC presented him, they must have seen his good qualities and known that he will do better than Governor Oti.
“We are seriously consulting and meeting people so as to sell our product because it is a good one. He built a lot of industries for his people.
” He employed a lot too. He is a philanthropist and most importantly, no controversy around him.
“I heard a former governor of the state condemning APC choice in the state and given victory to Alex Oti. It is a big shame because I did not expect this from him. He would be shocked at the end of the day because Eric Opia will carry the day.
“I know the former governor as a good politician. He will join us at the end of the day. My candid advise to the people of Abia state is to vote Eric Opiah and vote President Tinubu.
‘It should be APC all the way.
Those making contrary statements are making defeatist statements. We want to win Abia state and people should not be deceived by telling them to vote differently.
“That is why I am advising my brothers not to play ethnic politics. Let us go ahead and vote Tinunu and Eric Opiah in Abia state. I don’t want Igbos to play a confrontational politics.”
Chief Onyekwere also described the Governor of Imo State, Chief Hope Uzodimma as a great man; stating that” He should be able to control APC in the entire Igboland.
“He is our leader, I am gathering people to start a serious campaign for his senatorial seat because I am sure he will emerge as the President of the Senate in the next dispensation.
“My advise to Igbos is for us all to work together. Play a central politics and avoid ethnic politics. Igbos are very emotional when it comes to politics.
“Let us play politics that will help us and our children.”
