Compassion in Uniform: Ogun CP Saves Bereaved Mom From N300k Bill

By Ebinum Samuel

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni has again demonstrated that the police are actually the friends of the people. His intervention over the unsettled medical bill of a woman who lost her child through ceasaran section has given the woman a relief.
According to the Command image maker, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the grieved woman, Precious Mathew, from the Ogooluwa area behind Owode Market, approached the Owode-Yewa Police Division on 13 September 2026, over an outstanding hospital bill she owes.

Precious had undergone a Caesarean Section at Longe Hospital Medical Centre, Sabo, Owode-Yewa, on 30 June 2026, following which she sadly lost her baby.

The total hospital bill was ₦400,000, with ₦100,000 already paid, leaving an outstanding balance of ₦300,000.

The matter was brought to the attention of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Olubode Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, who interfaced with the medical doctor, Dr Babanki Samuel, appealing for understanding and compassion in view of the woman’s circumstances.

And then came the part that turned a difficult day into a moment of grace.

Having heard the circumstances, Dr Babanki Samuel voluntarily forgave the entire ₦300,000 outstanding bill and allowed Precious to leave without the burden of the payment.

There was no confrontation. No recrimination. Just a police intervention that opened the door for dialogue, followed by a doctor’s decision to show compassion to a woman already carrying the pain of losing her child.

The Ogun State Police Command sincerely appreciates Dr Babanki Samuel for his humanity and generosity.

For Precious, ₦300,000 may have been the figure on the hospital bill, but today, someone chose to see the woman behind the bill.

The police listened.
The CP intervened.
The doctor showed compassion.

And for one grieving woman, a heavy burden was lifted.

Thank you, Dr Babanki Samuel, for choosing humanity.
