It was a moment of celebration and political declarations at Itodo Open Field, Yagba East, as the lawmaker representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Elder Leke Abejide, pledged a whopping N500 million to empower youths in his constituency.
Abejide, who made the pledge during his homecoming ceremony, said the fund is earmarked for a youth empowerment programme that will help young people across the 74 communities in Yagba to start and grow small-scale businesses.
He noted that the scheme is part of his deliberate efforts to make youths self-reliant, reduce unemployment and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots.Β Β Β Β Β Β 
Beyond empowerment, the federal lawmaker also used the platform to declare his full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, both leaders have shown commitment to development-driven policies capable of transforming the lives of Nigerians and Kogites.
In her remarks, the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, lauded Abejide for his consistent support for widows and students, describing his interventions as impactful and people-oriented.
On his part, the Chairman of Yagba West LGA and Chairman of ALGON, Kogi State, Hon. Tosin Olokun, assured that the people of Yagba will stand with President Tinubu and Abejide in 2027, saying the APC administration has delivered visible dividends of democracy.
Similarly, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro charged youths to remain united and align with the All Progressives Congress, APC, which he described as the winning team for 2027.
The well-attended homecoming drew APC leaders, traditional rulers, women, youths and supporters from across the three local government areas that make up Yagba Federal Constituency.
