Driven by a strategic resolve to modernize grassroots security and solidify public trust, CP Bode Ojajuni, Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, has continued his strategic statewide familiarization tour with a working visit to the Ifo Area Command. Reaffirming the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, robust community partnership, and the enhancement of public safety, the tour featured extensive engagements with traditional rulers, local government authorities, sister security agencies, community leaders, and police personnel aimed at strengthening operational synergy and sustaining peace.
The police spokesman for the state, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that the Commissioner commenced the tour with a visit to the Palace of the Olunla Agbodere Kinni and Olu of Itori, HRM Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, who received him delightfully in the company of his distinguished Chiefs-in-Council. The Monarch highly commended the Commissioner’s leadership style, noting that his administration has successfully built upon the foundations laid by his predecessors to guarantee that the lives and property of the citizens are protected, enabling residents to sleep at night without fear.
In his remarks at the palace, CP Ojajuni expressed deep gratitude to the royal father for his steadfast support of the officers serving within the area and highlighted the operational dividends of Operation Kosaye. He assured the traditional institution that the Command would sustain its proactive, intelligence-led approach, while appealing for continuous royal partnership in gathering localized intelligence capable of preventing criminal activities.
Proceeding with the tour, CP Ojajuni paid royal homage to the Palace of the Olorile of Orile Ifo, HRM Oba Abdul Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, where he was warmly received by the Monarch and his Council of Chiefs. The CP appreciated the Kabiyesi and his chiefs for their long-standing alliance with the Nigeria Police Force. He reinforced his message on the strategic necessity of the community-police alliance, detailing the protective capabilities established by Operation Kosaye, and emphasizing the continuous need for grassroots support.
In response, the Kabiyesi wittily appreciated the CP for the “August visit in July” and praised his proactive leadership and strategic foresight. The traditional ruler reaffirmed the absolute commitment of his domain to supporting the Nigeria Police Force and sister security agencies in preserving law, order, and sustainable economic growth throughout the Ifo axis.
The familiarization tour culminated at the Ifo Area Command Headquarters, where the Commissioner of Police was formally received by the Area Commander, ACP Williams Oluwaseyi, alongside officers and men of the Command. Also in attendance for the stakeholders’ engagement were the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo; the State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Comrade Abdullah Lawal; prominent traditional and community leaders; and representatives of sister security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), So-Safe Corps, Forest Guards, and the Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board.
Addressing the robust gathering, CP Bode Ojajuni expressed profound appreciation for the overwhelming and warm reception. He specially commended the local government leadership for its consistent collaboration with the Police in securing communities within the Ifo Local Government Area. The CP applauded the high level of inter-agency cooperation within the axis, noting that despite the vastness of Ifo, security challenges have continued to be effectively addressed through synergy among security agencies and community stakeholders.
Highlighting the achievements of Operation Kosaye, the Commissioner reaffirmed that Ogun State remains hostile to criminal elements, declaring that the Command will continue to deny criminals any operating space within the State and along its borders. He further advocated stronger police-community synergy, stressing that security is a shared responsibility requiring the active participation of every resident.
During the engagement, the CP introduced stakeholders to the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) following a sensitization session by the State Coordinator, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi, emphasizing it as the Nigeria Police Force’s flagship non-kinetic crime prevention initiative. He also encouraged residents to keep maximizing the Gateway Shield digital platform by promptly reporting suspicious activities, assuring them that every credible piece of information received would be treated professionally and acted upon without delay.
In a targeted charge to the officers and men of the Area Command, CP Ojajuni explicitly enjoined them to continue being good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force in their various offices. He urged them to maintain the highest level of discipline, act in a highly professional manner, and remain uncompromisingly committed to their operational duties.
Responding on behalf of the community, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, expressed deep appreciation for the peace being enjoyed in Ifo and commended the CP for the remarkable operational successes recorded under his leadership since his arrival at the Command. The Chairman pledged the unwavering, continuous support of the local government to the Command and urged the officers not to relent in their efforts to ensure a peaceful Ifo.
CP Bode Ojajuni concluded by reaffirming that the Ogun State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to strengthen intelligence-led operations, deepen community partnerships, and proactively protect lives and investments through effective, professional policing strategies across Ogun State.
