The Ogun State Police Command will today charge three suspects before the Ago-Iwoye Magistrate Court following an investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, into an incident involving the alleged obstruction and serious assault of police officers performing their lawful duties.

The suspects, according to police spokesman, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, are Alaba Mulika, female, 51; Alawode Iyanu, male, 21; and Temitope Saliu, female, 29.

The incident occurred on 29th September 2026 when a police team led by ASP Akeredolu Emmanuel intercepted an unregistered Toyota Camry at Fibigbade Street, Ago-Iwoye. While the vehicle was being conveyed to the station, a Toyota Highlander, registration number JJJ 215 JV, allegedly blocked its movement at Abobi Street.

A physical confrontation allegedly followed, during which INSPR Abolarinwa Wasiu and CPL Olubamiro Adeniyi were allegedly assaulted. Video recordings of the incident, which subsequently circulated on social media, formed part of the materials reviewed during the investigation.

Following the CP’s directive, detectives investigated the circumstances, visited the scene and arrested the suspects. They will be charged on five counts bordering on conspiracy, obstruction of police officers, alleged serious assault on police officers and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

The Commissioner of Police reiterates that the safety and protection of police officers performing lawful duties remain a priority of the Command. Members of the public are encouraged to channel complaints through lawful mechanisms and avoid physical confrontation with police personnel.

Further updates will be communicated as developments warrant.
