Adeboye blesses granddaughter, husband as they wed in US

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, have joined family members and other guests to celebrate the wedding of their granddaughter, Oluwafunmilayo Adubi, in the United States.

Oluwafunmilayo married David Joseph at House of Praise Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 21, 2026.

The ceremony brought together relatives, church leaders and other well-wishers, with the RCCG leader offering prayers and a special blessing for the newly married couple.

Videos from the event, which circulated on social media on Friday, showed Adeboye praying for the bride and her husband, attracting attention from members of the public.

Oluwafunmilayo is the daughter of Pastor Bolu Adubi, Adeboye’s only daughter, and her husband, Pastor Akinsanya Adubi. Bolu formally presented her daughter to her husband during the ceremony.

The wedding featured a combination of Nigerian and Western traditions, reflecting the cultural backgrounds of the couple and their families.

The couple’s traditional wedding also attracted attention online after the event’s master of ceremonies, Foluso Ogunjimi, popularly known as Sokoyokoto, shared pictures and messages celebrating their union.

In a post dedicated to the bride, Ogunjimi wrote, “It’s all about Oluwafunmilayo, the graceful granddaughter of Pastor E A Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. The union is greatly blessed.”

In a separate post, he congratulated the couple, writing, “Great Grandparents loading. Congratulations Daddy & MGO”

Adeboye and his wife are affectionately addressed as Daddy G.O. and Mummy G.O. by many members of the church.

The wedding has continued to generate reactions on social media, particularly following the circulation of videos showing the prominent cleric praying for his granddaughter and her husband.
