Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she no longer sees marriage as part of her future plans following the collapse of her relationship with former husband and politician, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The actress made the revelation during a livestream conversation with popular TikToker Jarvis at a Children’s Day carnival organised in Asaba, Delta State.
Speaking candidly about family, motherhood and her personal journey, Daniels disclosed that although she has lost interest in getting married again, she still hopes to have a female child someday.
But for some reason, I’ve checked my mind out of getting married. I’m yet to have a girl. And I must have a girl,” she said.
The actress, who is already a mother of two boys, explained that her longing for a daughter is tied to the special bond she believes exists between mothers and their female children.
“I feel like motherhood starts better. Like you would understand motherhood when you have a girl child,” she said.
“So, having boys is easy because at least you can groom them to have a role model in a father figure. But for your girl child, you have to be that role model for them to emulate.”
Daniels further disclosed that she once had no intention of giving birth to a girl before becoming a mother.
Before I had my first son, I said no, never. I will never have a girl child. Never, ever. But after my first, after my second, I remember, for some reason, it’s female kids that remember,” she added.
Reflecting on family relationships, the actress noted that women often maintain deeper emotional connections with their homes compared to men.
“Men will grow, get married and focus more on building family. But for women, she will always remember home,” she said.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko got married in 2019 in a union that attracted significant public attention because of their age gap. The marriage produced two sons.
However, the relationship reportedly faced challenges in 2025 after Nwoko alleged that the actress was struggling with substance abuse and needed rehabilitation.
Daniels denied the accusations and later accused the senator of manipulation, emotional abuse and controlling behaviour before eventually leaving the marriage and relocating to her own residence.
